The Lakes Mountaineer is a family-run activity provider based in Cumbria. Join us for holiday activities, instruction or experiences.

Family Adventures:
Give the family an adventure you are sure to remember. Choose from three different days of activity, based around four different mountain sports.

Mini-Mountains: for families with kids 7+, climb, abseil and treasure hunt (navigation!).
Mighty-Mountains: for families with kids 11+, climb, abseil, scramble.
Mega-Mountains: parent and child scrambling adventure day.

Rock Climbing:
Single pitch group days, multi-pitch experiences, or advanced instruction. Indoors or outdoors, sport or trad.  From first time on rock to experienced climbers wanting to review and add skills, The Lakes Mountaineer offers a range of courses to suit all needs.

Scrambling:
Scrambling or mountaineering is an activity somewhere between walking and rock climbing. Part of a mountain journey, you regularly employ a rope for safety, and you get to some amazing places.

Mountain Walks:
If you have your eye on walking up a Wainwright, maybe even all of them, or if you want to scale England’s highest peaks, then you are in good hands with The Lakes Mountaineer.

Navigation:
The Lakes Mountaineer is currently offering National Navigation Award Scheme (NNAS) Bronze and Silver award courses, aimed at building you up from absolute novice.
