The Inn has been awarded Cumbria Tourism Pub of the Year 2017, as well as the AA Dinner Award for its high quality dinner with an emphasis on freshly prepared local Lakeland ingredients. We offer a good selection of locally brewed real Ales, delicious home cooked food, comfortable accommodation and over 50 malt whiskies. The Three Shires Inn really does have something for everyone and is a great location to relax at the end of a long day walking, especially when the weather is good enough to sit outside, or if you need to curl up in front of the real log fire. All welcome in the bar including families with children and dogs.
The point where the three old counties of Westmorland, Cumberland and Lancashire met is marked by the Three Shires Stone, which many will have passed if their journey to the Three Shires Inn has taken them over Wrynose Pass. The stone, which was cut in the then Lancashire village of Cartmel (now Cumbria), was erected in 1860.
