The Blencathra Centre, run in partnership with the lake District National Park, is one of eighteen field centres operated by the Field Studies Council. The Field Studies Council is a pioneering educational charity which was set up to help people discover, explore, understand and be inspired by the natural environment. We believe that the more we know about the world around us, the more we can appreciate its needs, and help to protect and sustain its diversity and beauty for future generations. The centre welcomes people of all ages and background. Throughout the year we offer courses in a range of subjects including Art, Photography, History, GPS, D of E, Walking, Natural History and Family Courses that include Bushcraft and Activities.
