Reputedly haunted, the Castle's elegant rooms, historic furnishings and superb works of art are a treat to explore. The audio tour, narrated by the Pennington family (who still live in the Castle and whose ancestors have been at Muncaster for more than 800 years) enlivens the Castle, bringing the past to the present.

Our World owl Centre is also a must! With over 50 different species of owls, from the Arctic to Australia and Mexico to the Mediterranean, the Owl Centre is home to one of the finest collections in the world. From the giant eagle owl to the tiny pygmy owl you'll be amazed at the diversity of these fantastic feathered friends. Explore the beautifully laid out aviaries, watch the owls in their nest boxes via CCTV and in the Spring marvel at their beautiful chicks. Come and 'Meet the birds' and learn about these fascinating and secretive creatures of the night.
